■New cultural landmark (sacred place) facing Shibuya Scramble Crossing

On April 25, 2024, “SHIBUYA TSUTAYA,” TSUTAYA's flagship store, will be reborn under the theme “Create the world with what you love”.

It is a place where cultures that carry a lot of love gather and where people who know that love meet across races, borders, genders, and generations.

And what we like sublimates into what we love. Much love creates new heat. That heat moves the times and creates culture.

“SHIBUYA TSUTAYA” is a new cultural landmark (sacred place) facing the scramble crossing in Shibuya, a world-class tourist destination that attracts many tourists not only from Japan but also from overseas.

■Create the world with what you love. “SHIBUYA TSUTAYA”

You can't get carried away with what you love,

It is very important to live in the future.

The word diversification is sometimes ambiguous,

They can leave us in the wide open sea.

From now on we need to create our own world by ourselves.

When you have something you love

You can meet people who like the same things.

That person will tell you again what they like.

It becomes its own world.

Having something you love.

It's about creating a new place for yourself.

Come on, here's what you like. Here.

Create the world with what you love. “SHIBUYA TSUTAYA”

■The renewed “SHIBUYA TSUTAYA” logo

We envision the creation of an unprecedented new “culture infrastructure” that proposes lifestyles through “experiences” such as content and events that can be enjoyed by all people, regardless of nationality or generation, 365 days a year, using IP from around the world.

In addition to the light, yet loose and original font, the plain canvas-like icon, which is based on the initial “T” of TSUTAYA, will serve as a symbol for future collaborations with various IPs.

The new logo for SHIBUYA TSUTAYA was designed by Kenya Hara (President of Nippon Design Center Inc.), a designer who was also involved in the overall design direction of the TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE logo, etc.
